Sexual Bias
This week the full crew is back for episode 22. We start with Big Cat proclaiming his win of the bet and whether or not it’s a good thing. The General recounts his Las Vegas adventure and Berg talks about a show he went to. Which then begs the question of what are we too old to do anymore? The guys then dive into the news that the NFL is considering allowing the first woman official in the league. After some questionable views the crew finishes off the show discussing the potential death of the summer blockbuster. Tune in and enjoy this week’s show...

The guys all gather together for their weekly chat. After recapping their activities for the week, and the annoyances that go with it, the guys each pick one minor annoyance in their life that they would gladly eliminate. Lance tries to discuss work fun work activities, only to find out that both Mills and Berg dislike the “recreational activity” golf. Since that topic worked out so well, Lance tries again, this time discussing TV pilots. What are each of the guys looking for in a pilot and what makes it good? Once they lay out what they are looking for in a pilot, they list some of their favorite pilots of the past that never succeeded as a series. Conversely, they discuss some HORRIBLE pilots that end up leading into long running series. Listen, Enjoy, and let us know what you think. That Was Vague This week it is just Lance & Berg, as Mills had a prior commitment. It is our monthly “What’s Happening” show. With only two of us, our discussion take NUMEROUS tangents, but still we have our normal fair of events to discuss. The Rose Festival is still ongoing, and the Grand Floral Parade is Saturday June 8th downtown. Berg has a couple of concerts that he is planning on checking out, see the list below. There are also a couple big name Comedians coming to town. Tracy Morgan will be in town on the 13th at the Newmark Theatre . Pauly Shore, yes that Pauly Shore, will be at the Harvey's Comedy Club on June 21ST. Finally, Bill Maher will be cracking wise about politics at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall on June 23rd. We mixed in a little sports talk, we had to after seeing how well the Oregon Colleges are doing in Baseball this spring. Of course we didn’t forget about the movies. There is a sure fire Blockbuster, as well as a Casey Movie Pick. Going Off Topic The guys met up at the General’s for their weekly banter. They begin the show talking about you. Yes you, the listener. To be more specific, they discuss the world wide appeal the show is having. There are listeners from all over the world. The guys at Funny would love nothing more, other than Kate Upton visit the show, that for you the listener to contact us at [email protected] and let us know who you are. After celebrating you the listener, the guys move onto far less important topics. Namely, what is the best candy? Each of the guys weighs in. Mills tries to class up the show, by transitioning from candy, to fine dining. What is the favorite fine dining experience in Portland for each of the guys? We wrap up the show with a philosophical question, if you could be born in any time period in any region, when and where would you want to live? Let us know what you think in the comment section below, and enjoy the show. Internationally Known They guys get together for their weekly chat. They start off recapping the experience going to the Fathom Events playing Star Trek: the Next Generation’s classic two parter “Best of Both Worlds”. This unique setting allowed plenty of fodder for comedy gold. After a slight delay, we realize that this is our what’s happening in May show. On May 26th is the 10k Rum Run in Tualatin, running with the booze involved. How can that be anything but a good idea? There are also two comedians coming to town this month, Amy Schumer and Bill Cosby. If you need some spiritual enlightenment, the Dalai Lama will be in town on the 9th. Berg and Mills have a concert list coming to town this month for you to check out: Mumford & Sons, Primus, Young Turks, Cake, and Ozomatli. There is one day in May that you shouldn’t miss; Mother’s Day is May 12th. If you need an idea for a gift for Mom, check out the Crafty Wonderland. Mills is in town to be able experience his first Rose Festival. Instead, he would rather participate in Cosplay at Wonder NW. Finally, after getting through the cultural events going on, the guys get into the meat & potato of the happens of May, the Movie Releases. The guys are stoked for the movie releases. Cautiously Optimistic This week we have our monthly what’s happening in Portland show for April. We start off with a bang and get right into it with Star Trek the Next Generation: Best of Both Worlds coming to a theater near you. If Trek isn’t your thing, there is a comedy festival occurring April 18-21st, Bridgetown Comedy Fest. Speaking of smiling, if you attend and/or participate in, the Portland Soapbox Derby and don’t have a good time, there is something it the matter with you. Do you think the guys should participate in the event? Let us know. April also brings us opening day of baseball. The guys of course make World Series projections. Lance will be heading to Stumptown Comic Fest, which leads Berg to ask an interesting question, with unlimited resources, what would your cosplay costume be? After the normal movie and concert talk, full concert list below, the guys pull out the old man card. They pose the question, what the kids of today will miss out on due to the fact they didn't grow up in the 90’s. Listen and Enjoy. Micheal Bay Touched It Monthly Concert List: 4/2/13 Billy Bragg at the Aladdin Theater 4/9/13 Lucero at the Hawthorne Theater 4/13/13 Violet Isle at the Doug Fir Lounge 4/14/13 Polar Bear Club, The Bronx & Bad Religion at the Roseland Theater 4/16/13 The Gaslight Anthem at the Wonder Ballroom 4/19/13 Jenny Owens Young, Tim McIlrath, & Chuck Ragan on the Revival Tour at the Aladdin Theater Sean Wynn (Sean W), a local comic book store manager, joins us this week. Lance & Sean can’t help but bring up comics with Sean W throughout the show. We start off talking about some recent casting Hollywood has done. Now that Megan Fox has been cast as the female lead in Michael Bay’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, read April O’Neil, the guys decide to cast the rest of the movie. As the discussion moves on, the Lone Ranger and white wash casting of Johnny Depp as Tonto is flushed out. Absurd Arguments is back this week, where we argue whether you'd rather go see a Ke$ha or Tim McGraw concert and why. After a little more comic book talk, we end the show talking about Star Trek: Into the Darkness and who Benedict Cumberbatch will be playing, or at least currently rumored to be playing. Give it a listen, and let us know what you think. Sean Wynn Every first episode of the month we cover a few events in Portland that we're looking forward to. Berg & Sean scour the concert venues for a few shows they're looking forward to checking out. There is a list for tickets below. It's March, so you know what that means...St. Paddy's Day! Before your drinking gets too over the top, you can go participate in the Shamrock Run, a charity 5k. Of course there will be some partying and some shenanigans going on at Kell’s afterwards. Don’t forget that Daylight Savings is on the 10th and we will all be losing a precious hour of sleep. College basketball fans are getting excited March Madness is coming. Towards the end of the month, the Spring Beer & Wine Festival will take over the Oregon Convention Center. Of course, we can’t get together without a few random conversations and sidebars taking place. So we debate the correct way toilet paper should hang and the latest internet sensation the Harlem Shake.
